Thermoplastic Elastomers (TPE)

While TPE has the properties and performance of rubber, it’s actually processed like plastic and fully recyclable. Because of its elastomeric component, TPEs are soft and flexible materials that can be repeatedly stretched to at least twice their original length at room temperature and return to the approximate length of the original shape upon stress release.

TPEs have a soft touch that is appealing and beneficial for many markets and consumer goods. Soft TPE can be easily molded or extruded onto hard thermoplastic materials, making it great for soft touch grips on products. TPEs are also perfect for sealing rings and bottle cap liners. Other types of TPE can be used for automotive parts, wire and cable insulation, HVACs, and home appliances. The TPE grades we offer, can be tailored to customers request, as they can be transparent, colored, with and without fillers, with improved adhesion to PA, ABS, PS and PC engineering plastics, applicable to FDA regulations, antistatic compounds and etc.

We offer and supply the following grades :

  • Thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) compounds based on SEBS (styrene-ethylene-butylene-styrene)
  • TPV – thermoplastic elastomer vulcanizates (EPDM/PP)
  • SBS – styrene-butadiene-styrene
  • TPO – thermoplastic polyolefins

Some advantages and benefits of using our TPE compounds are:

  • Availability of materials with different hardness and density

                SEBS from 5 shore A to 65 shore D, service temperature -40˚C to 130˚C
                TPV from 30 shore A to 65 shore D, service temperature -40˚C to 140˚C
                SBS from 20 shore A to 65 shore D, service temperature -30˚C to 65˚C
                TPO from 70 shore A to 65 shore D, service temperature -40˚C to 100˚C

  • Resistance to weathering, ozone and UV
  • Recyclable
  • Cost-effectiveness, easy processing with a shorter duty cycle
  • Many grades are non hygroscopic, so pre drying is not necessary
  • Adhesion to PA, ABS, PS, PC and engineering plastics
  • Good resistance to acids and bases as well as oils (ex: IRM 903 , IRM 901)
  • Special grades, resistant to bacterial attack and fungus growth
  • Abrasion resistance
  • Antistatic compounds
  • Food contact grades
  • Available in translucent and transparent forms
  • Easy coloring during processing
  • Flexibility at low temperatures
