New possibilities with the new additions to our portolio - thermoplastic copolyesters and thermoplastic polyester elastomers

 

We are excited to announce a significant development for our partners of Taro Plast as we proudly unveil the acquisition of Celanese's assets in hotmelt polyesters and thermoplastic co-polyesters (TPC) produced in the Ferrara Donegani plant, as well as some assets present in the Forlì compounding plant. This strategic move marks a new era of growth and opens doors to exciting possibilities for us and our customers. Closing of the transaction is expected by the end of this year, following the completion of the information and consultation procedures with the unions and subject to approval by the antitrust authorities.

 

This acquisition substantially enriches our product portfolio with a wider range of high-quality Thermoplastic Co-polyesters – Pibiflex® and Riteflex®:
 

• Pibiflex® is a thermoplastic polyester with high elastomeric properties. It is a block copolymer formed with hard, rigid PBT segments and soft amorphous polyether segments. Pibiflex® is suitable for engineering applications where high mechanical, thermal and physical properties are required.

 

• Riteflex® thermoplastic polyester elastomers (TPE-ET) are block copolymers that combine the favorable characteristics of vulcanized rubber with the easy processability of thermoplastics for toughness, tear and flex fatigue resistance over a wide temperature range.

 

• Riteflex® (TPC-ET) thermoplastic elastomers offer an innovative combination of hard and soft segments – providing the desirable properties of thermoset elastomers along with the processing ease of thermoplastics. They have the excellent chemical resistance of polyesters to common solvents, oils and greases, and dilute acids and bases.
