PPAX is an innovative carrier system for color masterbatches, developed by our partners at Tosaf Color Service. It utilizes the high-performance polymer PPA (polyphthalamide) and contains specially selected pigments that withstand high processing temperatures, allowing products to be colored in vibrant shades without compromising the properties of the polymer used.
Compared to traditional PA66 based solutions, which are often preferred due to their lower cost, PPAX offers significantly better thermal stability, high strength, hardness, toughness, low water absorption, and excellent chemical resistance. Injection-molded products retain these qualities, making PPAX an ideal choice for high-tech applications.
Currently, the product range includes 28 standard colors, corresponding to the RAL color system. All of them are suitable for laser marking, providing high-contrast and durable color changes.
Manufacturers using PPAX can take advantage of the high melting temperature of PPA, optimizing the production cycle without being constrained by the masterbatch used. Tests conducted by Tosaf Color Service at processing temperatures of up to 340°C have shown excellent results. Even higher processing temperatures are possible, but they should be validated through in-house testing.
Samples colored with PPAX have demonstrated high resistance to light and environmental influences. All available colors provide improved long-term thermal stability and can withstand short-term exposure to extremely high temperatures, such as during soldering.
For more than three decades, our partners at Tosaf have been developing and manufacturing high-quality additives, compounds, and color masterbatches for the plastics industry. In order to meet every customer need, the company continuously expands its product range, production capacity, and global presence, establishing itself as an international organization that stays closely connected to the market.
Servicing customers in over 50 countries across Europe, North America, South America, Asia, and the Middle East, Tosaf has more than 1,400 employees and 22 production sites worldwide.
