Our partners from Colloids Limited, the largest masterbatch manufacturer in the UK with over 50 years of experience in the industry, have started producing polymer compounds using their innovative graphene masterbatch technology, called Graphanced®.
What is Graphene?
Graphene is a material with exceptional properties that has garnered immense global interest. It is the thinnest possible material – only one atom thick – but also the strongest. Graphene is characterized by outstanding mechanical properties (hardness surpassing diamond and a strength of 130 GPa), as well as incredible electrical and thermal conductivity.
Investments in Innovation
Colloids have been working on the development of graphene technologies for more than seven years. During this time, they have managed to build partnerships with the world's leading graphene producers to analyze its various qualities. This research activity has enabled the company to create new formulations for polymer compounds that incorporate this exceptional 2D material. The extensive expertise of Colloids also allows them to create tailor-made compounds according to their clients' requirements.
Global Leadership in Graphene Technologies
Colloids are joining forces with key partners and now lead the graphene masterbatch industry to commercialize new products with enhanced functionality based on graphene and other 2D and nanomaterials.
Academic and Industrial Integration
Colloids is the only masterbatch company that actively supports and funds a PhD project at the National Graphene Institute and the Graphene Engineering Innovation Centre at the University of Manchester (UK). Moreover, Colloids Limited is the first masterbatch manufacturer to become a member of the Graphene Council (US).
